Gender policies

Many societies and organizations strive to improve gender equality. However, gender policies are often harshly critiqued, either for giving unfair advantage to women, or for being not effective enough.

In one line of research, I examine attitudes towards women quotas - the most controversial gender policy. Looking beyond mere self-interest, I study factors that explain why women’s consistently hold more favorable attitudes towards women quotas than men.

In another line of research, I explore women’s lay theories about which and why gender policies are effective.
